Bus Driver Appreciation Week is Oct. 21-25. This is a great time to thank your bus driver, give them a gift, a snack, cold drink, draw a picture, or make a card. Take time over the weekend to come up with a way to recognize them next week. We want to thank all of our drivers for getting our students to school and home safely each day.

5th grade students in Mrs. Larsen's and Mrs. Reese's math classes played a Find Someone Who game Fall Break/Hurricane edition. They enjoyed sharing their good and bad experiences with each other. We heard many positives such as family time, nobody injured, and watching the linemen get the electricity back on. The overall negative was no internet or cell service for quite a few days so no video games or social media. It was good to see the students back today! #toombsstrong #5thgradersarethebest

LUES FAMILY FOCUS: READING STRATEGIES Read Aloud Together: Reading aloud with your child is one of the most powerful ways to promote a love of literacy. Choose books that pique their interest and take turns reading pages or paragraphs. As you read, discuss the story and characters, make predictions, and highlight connections your child or your family might have to the text.
